'Functional Family Garden' - Phase 2

'design and build'

It was lovely to return to this project continuing in the next phase.  Also it was great timing for the family due to the first glimpses of spring, so they could start enjoying their new space!

Design alterations to accommodate clients needs...

As you can see from the design below, while keeping the overall circular shapes, the intermediate edging within the lawn was removed & the surface area of the lawn was expanded.  This provided more space for play!  The paving circle was taken out and the paving was extended to maximise more useable space for entertaining etc.  Due to expanding the lawn area, one of the sleeper beds was also removed.  The pergola maybe added at a later date once the family have had time to live with the space.

The use of Fossil Sandstone against the both the Raj setts and Cerney stone compliment each other beautifully in colour and texture...

The negative shapes are really highlighted here by the Cerney stone & edging...

We loved the amount of variation and detail in this batch of sandstone; as you never know what you're going to get due to it being a natural material.

We love how our designs provide and highlight the differing shapes & angles depending where you stand in the space, giving you a unique experience of the garden from different points.

We await an ariel picture of the garden from our clients, that will put the whole design in context, so will share in due course.
