'The Dry Garden Design - Phase 2'

" A part derelict space in a small part of our garden has now been transformed into an eye catching and more enjoyable space.  Lou and Andy work well as a team and we would have no hesitation in recommending them to others who have gardens that need a makeover!! "

(Colin & Geraldine Sharpe - West Moors)

Geraldine & Colin approached us to tackle a particular corner of their garden back in the spring, which we successfully completed in June. Having transformed this corner they wanted to start addressing the rest of the garden, which is covered in shingle and is now looking very tired in places. Whilst it would be too much to tackle the whole garden they were open to approaching it in more manageable chunks.

It’s difficult having inherited such a large garden which is predominantly laid to ‘pea gravel’ on top of a variety of materials to suppress weeds, which are now showing in places, along with plastic.

Cerney Chippings’ have been used as an alternative to ‘Pea Shingle’ to help define the space, but also a material that locks together better under foot & decorative; a variety of sizes & shapes of stone with a more coastal feel, somewhere between cotswold chippings and small pebbles.

Clients preferred to plant the area themselves, so we gave them a list of appropriate grasses that would both thrive and look aesthetically pleasing against the sleeper wall. Mock concrete sleepers both lead up to this space & provide entry & exit points from the circle area.
