Design Only at this stage
A garden design for a family of four who wanted a minimalist, easy to maintain and practical garden that was aesthetically pleasing. Not giving us much to go on apart from wanting a contemporary feel to the design we were inspired by the number of their home; 32, hence the ‘3 & 2 Design’. These shapes provided lots of curves that would soften the very angular style of the house and outline of the garden. In turn the negative spaces that remained provided areas of intrigue.
We played around with height in the space that would both blur the large trampoline and draw the eye up and around the garden, with a mix of smooth white curved graduated rendered walls and architectural planting. Privacy was also a major part of this design due to neighbouring properties, so creative structural planting was introduced that would provide interest throughout the year.
Front gardens can often be a neglected area or seen as a less important space, but it’s the first thing you see when you arrive home, it sets the scene; a pleasing welcome, great curb appeal and a pleasure for passers by. In this instance; an option to occasionally sit, space to turn around in the drive and reflecting the style and planting pallet from the back garden…..
